Abstract

Marriage to foreigners has long been a subject of debate among scholars and legal experts, concerning its permissibility or prohibition. This research aims to present the jurisprudential opinion on this matter as well as the Libyan legal perspective. The study explores the concept of marriage to foreigners, its legitimacy, the reasons that may lead to it, and the resulting implications. It also discusses the harms and consequences associated with such marriages, along with the necessary measures to mitigate and address them. The research concludes with a summary of the main recommendations derived from a comprehensive study of this issue within both Islamic jurisprudence and Libyan law.
