Abstract

Armed conflicts negatively impact people's lives in all aspects of life, weakening the human capacity of society and diminishing its capabilities and potential. However, another aspect cannot be overlooked: the role of displacement resulting from armed conflicts on criminal behavior and its factors. Displacement, whether through displacement, which involves leaving residential areas that are the scene of armed conflict, or forced displacement, carried out by one of the parties to the conflict against the inhabitants of a specific area or region, constitutes criminal offenses under both national and international criminal law. The instability and successive wars our country has experienced in recent years, lasting more than a decade, have made the issue of displacement apparent, with all its negative consequences. These include the displacement of displaced persons to camps, such as those for workers of foreign companies who left the country due to armed conflicts and weak security. They may also be housed in educational institutions, which are inherently unsuitable for housing. This is accompanied by overcrowding and large numbers of people living in cramped spaces with limited and often unusable sanitary facilities, and a lack of respect for the most basic human rights. This has negative repercussions for those residing in these areas, leading to widespread criminality within the context of individual and environmental factors that underlie criminal behavior.
