This research paper aims to determine the extent to which the rules of civil responsibility can be applied to artificial intelligence technologies, clarify their limitations, search for the obstacles facing the implementation of these general rules, and the possible solutions. This is done by employing the descriptive analytical method by reviewing jurisprudential opinions and legal rulings, as well as legal texts and describing them, then analyzing them in a reliable scientific manner.
This research paper concluded that there is an absence of clear legal foundations for the possibility of granting legal personality to artificial intelligence technologies in order to facilitate the application of the general rules of tort responsibility to artificial intelligence technologies, but the rules of responsibility of the guardian of the thing or the responsibility of the subordinate for the mistakes of the follower can be applied according to the cases and according to precise conditions.
