Journal Policies
1. Editorial Policy
The journal is committed to transparency, objectivity, and the application of strict standards of academic integrity.
All submitted materials are checked for plagiarism prior to peer review using plagiarism detection software (______).
All research is reviewed under the supervision of an independent Editorial Board and handled with confidentiality in accordance with local and international publishing ethics.
2. Research and Publishing Ethics
Submissions must be original and unpublished.
Plagiarism is strictly prohibited; research may be corrected or withdrawn if necessary, and plagiarists will be permanently banned from publishing in the journal.
Authors are responsible for the originality of their work, while reviewers and editorial board members are expected to uphold integrity and impartiality.
3. Peer Review
All research papers, studies, and judicial commentary are reviewed by at least two qualified reviewers, with author identities withheld (double-blind review).
Reviews are conducted according to objective criteria (originality, methodology, significance, clarity). The reviewers’ recommendations are respected, and the Editor-in-Chief ensures compliance.
The Editorial Board selects reviewers from among specialized academic scholars in various branches of law, based on competence, expertise, and impartiality. Reviewer lists are updated periodically.
The journal’s administration verifies adherence of submissions to publishing rules and ethics, using plagiarism detection tools, and reports results to the Editor-in-Chief.
The Editor-in-Chief assigns each manuscript to a specialized editorial member to assess its suitability for review.
Manuscripts are sent to at least two reviewers; in case of conflicting opinions, a third reviewer may be appointed.
The review period is two to three weeks maximum. If a reviewer delays, the manuscript will be reassigned to another reviewer.
Authors must implement the required revisions, highlight them in a different color, and submit a report explaining how each comment was addressed. If the author objects to certain comments, the matter will be referred to the Editor-in-Chief for a final decision.
If a manuscript is rejected, the author will be notified and may request a copy of the reviewers’ reports.
As far as possible, reviewers should hold a higher academic rank than the author.
Authors’ comments on reviewers’ reports are referred to the Editor-in-Chief for consideration, provided they are based on sound scientific grounds.
4. Reviewer Selection and Recruitment
Reviewers are chosen based on their academic and professional expertise in the legal field.
They must have a reliable record of academic publications and be qualified to evaluate research according to scholarly standards.
Diversity of expertise and specialization is considered to ensure comprehensive evaluation.
The journal maintains a database of approved reviewers whose competence and academic record have been verified.
New reviewers are recruited through direct invitations or recommendations by editorial board members, with verification of their qualifications.
New reviewers are provided with clear guidelines on evaluation criteria, ethics, and the journal’s policies to ensure objective and accurate assessments.
The Editorial Board periodically reviews reviewer performance and maintains records of the quality of their evaluations for future selection.
5. Appeals and Complaints
Authors have the right to appeal rejection decisions within 30 days, and responses will be provided within 4 weeks.
Complaints related to publication or editorial conduct are received, handled confidentially and impartially, and resolved within 30 days.
6. Authorship and Conflicts of Interest
In the case of multiple authors, all authors must have made an actual contribution to the research, and the order of authorship must be documented with their approval.
Reviewers must disclose any financial or personal conflicts of interest before accepting review assignments.
If there is any connection with the author or the research, the task will be reassigned to a neutral reviewer.
7. Copyright and Open Access
All research published in the Journal of Legal Sciences is subject to the open-access policy, allowing free viewing and academic use, provided proper citation is given.
Authors retain full intellectual property rights to their work, while granting the journal the right of first publication and the right to make the work available in print and electronic formats.
Researchers and readers may use published materials for academic, educational, or research purposes, provided the source is cited and the content is not altered.
Re-publication, translation, or commercial distribution of published research without prior written permission from the Editorial Board is prohibited.
8. Citation and Quotation
Quoting from the journal’s research is permitted with proper citation of the source.
9. Fees
Publication in the journal is free of charge, and no fees are required.
